There's one thing that sets this place apart and makes it top quallity. However, before getting to that, the other stuff. There are little apartments onto a wee, central square but if you are in one of the apartments next door - take note of the "there is no lift" warning. We were on the top floor which was great as no noise from above through the floor or from the street (not that there is much noise from the street anyway). However, the 8 flights of steep, narrow stairs up to it were pretty hard to get the cases up. We didn't mind the ups and downs all the time at all as we like exercise but if you have any kind of mobility problems- you need one of the central apartments, not the flats. Lisbon is extremely hilly - and not just downwards towards the river, and upwards away from it....you might be going only two streets over and still find yourself going 40 degrees downhill for one street then 40 degrees up the next - it is exhausting and the streets are pretty rough. If you are mobile enough to walk around Lisbon then any of the flats will be fine for you but be warned - everything is steep! The apartment itself was spacious and clean. We would have liked somewhere to sit and look at the view but with small windows and no balcony the best place to sit would be down in the central square. We just spent all our time out roaming the city so no problem. The location is good - in a historic part of town and far enough away from chiado and pink street etc to not have a load of noise at night. Be warned though that it is in a restricted traffic area (even if you could manage to drive a car around the tiny, steep little streets) so hiring a car would mean parking outside of the area. We didn't. The walk down to, for example, the little supermarket is very steep, even though it is only about 200 yards. It is great though and you can get the tram just outside it to go upwards towards the town centre. So, onto what really sets this place apart......

Lisbon is a large, active, and bustling city which is very fun to explore and enjoy, but this hotel was like an oasis of peace and beauty in the middle of all that action. It was so amazingly well appointed, gorgeous, and quiet in Casa do Patio. We absolutely loved our stay here and would definitely choose this exact hotel again for our next stay. The breakfast was absolutely amazing! We couldn't help but take pictures of the spreads because there were so many fresh choices each day, including eggs cooked to order! The staff were absolutely wonderful and very helpful. The courtyard area was so peaceful and a wonderful place to hang out with a glass of wine after a long day of walking the steep inclines of the city. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

I had a wonderful stay at Casa do Pátio by Shiadu during my trip to Lisbon! The room was spotless and incredibly comfortable, and the homemade breakfast was absolutely delicious, featuring a delightful variety of dishes made with fresh eggs that I thoroughly enjoyed. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service and kindness of the hotel staff. They were always friendly, welcoming, and provided outstanding service throughout my stay. A special thanks to them for preparing a lovely picnic breakfast box on my check-out day, as I had to leave early. It was such a thoughtful gesture and greatly appreciated. Thank you for the excellent hospitality! I highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to return!

Hidden gem in the back streets of Barrio Alto just away from the main tourist streets. Rooms all located around a shared patio with lots of shade, perfect outside space for relaxing during the day or evening. We had a family room with two very big double beds (family of 4). Wifi was great (for the kids!) and everyone loved the breakfast, so much choice and really relaxed. The staff here are very helpful. There's a tiny shop and bar on the street just outside. very cheap for essentials if you need them. We loved the location as it's away from the noise and a nice walk into Chiado. Loved it. Would definitely stay in a Shiadu owned hotel again.

Great location, hidden in the heart of the city. Lovely private courtyard where you can sit and eat and drink, will be perfect in the summer. Our room was big, clean and had safe and fridge along with usual kettle and hair dryer etc. the breakfasts were nothing short of fantastic, wide variety of food, all freshly made, help yourself and ask for different styles of eggs. Everyone who work their are friendly and smiley and very helpful with tourist guidance.
